My promise about recommendations
I’m a professional chef and registered dietitian in Kyoto, and this site exists because I got tired of reading recommendations from people who had never used the products they praised. So here is the standard I hold myself to:
- I only recommend products I have actually bought, cooked with, brewed, or use in my own kitchen — or, where noted, products I have evaluated professionally against ones I use.
- Commissions never decide my opinion. If a cheaper product is better, I say so. If something isn’t worth your money, I say that too.
- Affiliate relationships never affect the price you pay.
